Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Answers to common questions from South Florida families about ABA therapy, insurance, service areas, and how MCDS works.

What is ABA therapy?+

Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based approach to understanding and supporting behavior. MCDS uses individualized, BCBA-supervised ABA to help children build communication, social, and daily-living skills.

Where does MCDS provide ABA therapy?+

MCDS serves families throughout Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties. Availability of a specific clinician, schedule, service, or service setting varies based on location, staffing, clinical needs, insurance authorization, and current capacity.

Which insurance plans does MCDS accept?+

MCDS currently works with eligible plans from Aetna, Cigna, Florida Blue, UnitedHealthcare, and TRICARE, as well as qualifying Florida Medicaid fee-for-service coverage and private-pay families. Coverage, prior authorization, and out-of-pocket responsibility vary by plan and by individual policy.

Does MCDS provide services in Spanish?+

Yes. MCDS is a family-run, culturally responsive practice with multilingual support, including Spanish-speaking staff when available.

Does MCDS require a diagnosis before starting?+

ABA therapy generally requires an autism diagnosis or a clinically appropriate reason for care under most insurance plans. MCDS can help families understand next steps and referrals when a diagnosis is not yet in place.

Where is MCDS located?+

MCDS is headquartered in Lauderhill, Florida. Most services are delivered in-home, in the community, or via telehealth when clinically appropriate.

How do I get started with MCDS?+

You can call 954-302-8758 or submit an intake form online. An MCDS team member will follow up to discuss your child, your family, and the next steps.
